A Resolution to Accept a Quote and Proceed with Upgrades to a Vehicle Mounted Light Tower
Summary
This Capital Purchase will be used to upgrade an apparatus mounted light tower to LED technology. The current light tower is out of service due to the truck no longer having an onboard hydraulic generator to supply the required power. This upgrade will allow the equipment to be operated off the trucks 12 volt power supply. The LED light tower conversion is a planned capital purchase for FY 2023-2024 under account 100-2020-5100 in the amount of $10,000. We received quotes from the two local dealers of the light tower. We are requesting to fund Capital Purchase account 100-2020-5100 in the amount of $10,000. Though our lowest equipment quote totaled $8,231.90, we are requesting the remaining funds be used for any unforeseen issues that need to take place at time of the upgrade.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley Fire Department requires power and lighting upgrades to a vehicle mounted light tower, and
WHEREAS, the LED light tower conversion is a planned capital purchase for FY 2023-2024 under account 100-2020-5100 in the budgeted amount of $10,000, and
WHEREAS, Sunbelt Fire’s quote was the lowest of the two received totaling $8,231.90, and
WHEREAS, the use of remaining funds may be needed for unforeseen issues during the upgrading process.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Sunbelt Fire quote of $8,231.90 for light tower upgrade.
SECTION 2: Approves for the remaining funds up to $10,000 to be used for any unforeseen issues that need to take place at time of the upgrade.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
