A Resolution to Enter into a Contract with Adams Stewart Architects, LLC
Summary
Under 24-1208 RES, the City of Foley accepted a FEMA HMGP grant in order to fund the First Responder Hurricane Safe Room Project. One of the first steps for this project was to secure architectural services. The City of Foley issued an RFQ for Architectural Firms for the FEMA HMGP grant funded safe room project to assist in the building design, bidding process, construction oversight, and project coordination. The City received six (6) proposals for said services which was opened and reviewed and determined to be appropriate. The City of Foley recommends to Council to award Adams Stewart Architects, LLC the contract and approves to enter into an agreement with them for the architectural services required for the safe room project. City requests Council authorizes Mayor, Clerk and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed. The initial estimate for the architectural services shall be 7.10% of the Owner's estimated cost of work $3,750,000.00 totaling $266,250.00. These funds have already been appropriated under 24-1208 RES. This estimate is subject to change based upon the bids received for construction.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley recommends to Council to award Adams Stewart Architects, LLC the contract and approves to enter into an agreement with them for the architectural services required for the safe room project, and
WHEREAS, the initial estimate for the architectural services shall be 7.10% of the Owner's estimated cost of work $3,750,000.00 totaling $266,250.00, and these funds have already been appropriated under 24-1208 RES, and
WHEREAS, City requests Council authorizes Mayor, Clerk and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: City of Foley recommends to Council to award the contract to Adams Stewart Architects, LLC for the architectural services needed for the First Responder Safe Room.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor, Clerk and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
