Due to some vacancies and the need to restructure the Public Works and Street Departments, the following amendments to the Pay Classification Plan are needed. 1) Eliminate the position of Deputy Public Works Director/Deputy EMA Director in the Street Department (Grade 240) and authorize the new position of Public Works Administrator in the Public Works Department (Grade 220). 2) Eliminate one slot in the position of Heavy Equipment Operator I in the Street Dept (Grade 80) and authorize the new position of Public Works Construction Manager in the Street Department (Grade 200). This position will also be assigned emergency management duties. 3. Convert/upgrade the current position of Street Maintenance Superintendent (Grade 170) to Street Maintenance & Personnel Superintendent (Grade 200).

WHEREAS, there is a need to modify the City's Pay Classification Plan in the Public Works and Street Departments due to some vacancies and to accommodate the reorganization of the departments for their changing needs.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Amends the Pay Classification Plan by eliminating the position of Deputy Public Works Director/Deputy EMA Director (Job Code 3010131 / Grade 240) and authorizing the new position of Public Works Administrator (Job Code 1060109 / Grade 220).
SECTION 2: Amends the Pay Classification Plan by eliminating one vacant (1) slot in the position of Heavy Equipment Operator I (Job Code 3010123 / Grade 80) and authorizing the new position of Public Works Construction Manager (Job Code 3010132 / Grade 200).
SECTION 3: Amends the Pay Classification Plan by eliminating the position of Street Maintenance Superintendent (Job Code 3010130 / Grade 170) and authorizing the new position of Street Maintenance and Personnel Superintendent (Job Code 3010133 / Grade 200).
SECTION 4: The required budget transfers are included on the Request to Transfer Departmental Budget Dollars.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
