A Resolution Approving the Purchase of Two Kayaks for Event Prizes in the Nature Parks Department
Summary
Request permission to purchase two inflatable kayaks for the Nature Parks Department's Bunny Hunt. The kayaks will be given away at random to an adult's entry and a child's entry in a scavenger hunt event over spring break week. This was budgeted in 2024 under the event operations account with inflatable kayaks valued at up to $80 a piece with paddles. This event allows guests to perform a scavenger hunt throughout the park for coded "bunnies." Guests must find a minimum to qualify for the prizes. This event is open to everyone and gets the public out in the park for public well being and health.

WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department is requesting to purchase two kayaks for the top prizes of the Bunny Hunt, and
WHEREAS, the kayaks were included in the current year budget for up to $80 a piece under Account #100-5090-6160 Event Operations, and
WHEREAS, the event brings the public to the Nature Parks for the scavenger hunt which adds to public health and well bring as they explore areas of the parks.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Nature Parks Department to purchase and give away two kayaks with a value up to $80 a piece as prizes of the Bunny Hunt, as the give away is promotes public health and public good.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
