WHEREAS, a regular municipal election has been called to be held on the 25th day of August, 2020, and a runoff election to be held, if necessary, on the 6th day of October, 2020, and
WHEREAS, Section 11-46-27 of the Alabama Code of 1975, and regulations adopted pursuant thereto provide, in part, that the municipal governing body, not less than 15 days before the holding of any municipal election, appoint from the municipality, officers to hold the election as follows: where electronic ballot counters are used, at least one inspector and three clerks, and
WHEREAS, according to Section 11-46-27(c) in every city having, according to the last or any subsequent federal decennial census, 10,000 or more inhabitants, the municipal governing body shall also appoint from the qualified electors of the city one inspector and at least three clerks, who shall meet on the day of the election at such place and hour as the municipal governing body may designate for the purpose of receiving, counting, and returning the absentee ballots cast at such election, and four days before the election the municipal governing body shall ascertain the number of absentee ballots which have been cast at the election and, if more than 600 absentee ballots have been cast, then such governing body shall appoint three more inspectors and two more clerks for each 600 absentee ballots or fraction thereof cast at such election.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Foley, Alabama, that the election officers and their pay for said election shall be as follows:
