WHEREAS, the City of Foley requests Council approval to seek Request for Qualifications (RFQ's) from architectural firms to design the FEMA approved safe room, and
WHEREAS, the architectural firm will also be responsible for the building drawings, renderings, and scope of work and plans for the bid packet, and
WHEREAS, the City will advertise in local area papers and online and the architectural firm will be selected by an evaluation committee, and
WHEREAS, the City requests Council permission to allow the Mayor to execute a contract with the selected firm and begin the safe room project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the request to begin the safe room project and seek a qualified architect for the building design through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
SECTION 2: Authorizes the Mayor and other City officials to execute a contract with the selected architectural firm.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
