A Resolution Accepting the FY2025 Legislative Event Grant

 

Summary

The Nature Parks Department requested Council permission on 25-1103-RES to apply for the FY25 Legislative Event Grant that was submitted on behalf of the City of Foley by Representative Francis Holk-Jones. The City of Foley's Christmas Light Trail event has been awarded a $2,600 grant with no matching funds required. These funds will be used for event operations.  The Nature Parks Department requests to amend the following accounts: 100-5090-6160 (Event Operations Expense) by $2,600 and 100-5090-4300 (GCNP - Event Grants Revenue) by $2,600.

     WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department requested Council permission on 25-1103-RES to apply for the FY25 Legislative Event Grant that was submitted on behalf of the City of Foley by Representative Holk-Jones, and

 

     WHEREAS,  the City of Foley's Christmas Light Trail event has been awarded a $2,600 grant with no matching funds required, and

 

     WHEREAS, these funds will be used for event operations, and 

 

     WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department requests to amend the following accounts: 100-5090-6160 (Event Operations Expense) by $2,600 and 100-5090-4300 (GCNP - Event Grants Revenue) by $2,600.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1: Council would like to thank Representative Holk-Jones for her support of Graham Creek Nature Preserve and their Christmas Light Trail event.

 

     SECTION 2: Accepts the FY2024 Legislative Event Grant for $2,600 and approves to amend the budget as follows: 100-5090-6160 (Event Operations Expense) by $2,600 and 100-5090-4300 (GCNP - Event Grants Revenue) by $2,600.

 

     SECTION 3: Council authorizes the Mayor and other City officials to execute the grant agreement and other documents as required for the acceptance of the grant. 

 

     SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
