WHEREAS, the City of Foley comprises the majority of the headwaters of the Bon Secour River watershed, and
WHEREAS, the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program contracted with the City of Foley for project management and Volkert, Inc., along with Louis Berger and Allen Engineering and Science, to prepare a comprehensive watershed management plan for the Bon Secour River, Oyster Bay and Skunk Bayou watersheds, and
WHEREAS, the plan was completed in January 2017 and identified critical issues and recommended management measures for the watershed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Grants a resolution of support for the implementation of the Bon Secour River, Oyster Bay and Skunk Bayou Watershed Management Plan.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
