WHEREAS, there is a need to appoint members to the Personnel Action Committee to fill the vacancy left by Jan Chilson and to appoint an alternate member, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and
WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission has developed an online training video of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, and
WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the board.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appoints Renetta McGowin as Regular Member to the Personnel Action Committee beginning May 6, 2024.
SECTION 2: Appoints Mark Jones as Alternate Member to the Personnel Action Committee beginning May 6, 2024.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
