WHEREAS, the Foley Senior Center requests permission to apply for the AARP Community Grant Challenge, and
WHEREAS, the grant application is due April 17, 2019 with projects to be completed by November 4, 2019, and
WHEREAS, there are no matching funds required for this grant and the average award is $8,000, and
WHEREAS, if awarded, this money will be used for the purchase of three wheel bicycles and outdoor games for the Senior Center.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the Foley Senior Center to apply for the AARP Community Challenge Grant.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
