WHEREAS, the FY26 resurfacing plans are at the 100% design level and staff recommends moving forward with the bid solicitation; and
WHEREAS, the base bid proposes resurfacing 4.76 lane miles of roads, with an additional 1.54 lane miles proposed as an elective additive bid alternative, which the Council may choose to award after bids are received; and
WHEREAS, the FY26 capital budget allocated $1 million towards the resurfacing project; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer's estimate for the base bid plus the additive alternative totals $1.19 million.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approve permission to solicit bids for the FY26 Annual Resurfacing Project and award if within budget
SECTION 2: Appropriate $1,000,000 for the FY26 Resurfacing and Street Repairs to Account No #400-3020-6197 A13 FY26.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
