Summary
The Engineering Department requests to memorialize the application prepared by Yellowhammer Engineering and submitted for the FY22 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A). We are applying for funding to create an action plan to develop a holistic, well-defined strategy to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries within our police jurisdiction. The action plan will define specific projects that the City can implement to reduce injuries and fatalities within our community. The applications were due September 15, 2022. We have requested $108,500 in grant funding with $27,125 in matching funds.

WHEREAS, The Engineering Department requests to memorialize the application prepared by Yellowhammer Engineering and submitted for the FY22 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A), and
WHEREAS, we are applying for funding to create an action plan to develop a holistic, well-defined strategy to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries within our police jurisdiction, and
WHEREAS, the action plan will define specific projects that the City can implement to reduce injuries and fatalities within our community, and
WHEREAS, the applications were due September 15, 2022 and we have requested $108,500 in grant funding with $27,125 in matching funds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Memorialize the Engineering Department’s application for the FY22 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant.
SECTION 2: Council memorializes the Mayor and other City officials signature on the application and other documents required to proceed grant request.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
