The employee currently serving in the Library Technician/Computer Operator position is retiring. The position needs to be restructured to remove the IT Technician components since the City now has an internal IT Department. The position will have managerial and supervisory job functions added to it as well. These substantial job function changes warranted a new job analysis by The Archer Company (the City's contracted job analysts). The Archer Company recommends that the job title be changed to Library Lab Manager and that the pay grade be increased from a G-14 to a G-15. The Library Director, City Administrator, and HR Director concur with the recommendation. Funds in the total amount of $3,771 are being requested in support of this action.

WHEREAS, The employee currently serving in the Library Technician/Computer Operator position is retiring, and
WHEREAS, The position needs to be restructured to remove the IT Technician components since the City now has an internal IT Department, and
WHEREAS, The position will have managerial and supervisory job functions added to it which is a substantial change to job functions and warranted a new job analysis by The Archer Company (the City's contracted job analysts), and
WHEREAS, The Archer Company recommends that the job title be changed to Library Lab Manager and that the pay grade be increased from a G-14 to a G-15, and
WHEREAS, An allocation of funds in the total amount of $3,752 are needed in support of this action.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves amending the Pay Classification Plan and converting the Library Technician/Computer Operator at a Grade 14 to Library Lab Manager at a Grade 15, effective with the pay period beginning December 2, 2014.
SECTION 2: Approves funds in support of this action in the total amount of $3,771 as follows:
Salaries 01-614-1010 - $3,390
Payroll Tax 01-614-1030 - $259
Life/Disability 01-614-1041 - $19
Workers Comp 01-614-1160 - $103
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
