In an effort to update the City of Foley Public Library Policy Manual we ask that the Foley City Council approve the attached City of Foley Public Library Collection Development Policy. The policy highlights the procedure by which the City of Foley Public Library enhances its collection of materials including print, digital, and electronic formats. The attached policy was previously approved by the Library Advisory Board in a meeting on September 15, 2015.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley Public Library would like to officially adopt a Collection Development Policy which outlines the measures by which the Library maintains its overall collection, and
WHEREAS, the City of Foley Public Library is a department of the City of Foley, we therefore request that the City of Foley accept the City of Foley Public Library Collection Development Policy as a means of strengthening and maintaining the Library's overall collection.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the City of Foley Public Library Collection Development Policy.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
