     WHEREAS, the State of Alabama Ethics Commission says that public officials/board members fall under the State Ethics Law, and therefore should have the opportunity to educate themselves regarding this law, and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Ethics Commission offers an online video training of the Alabama Ethics Law, which can be accessed at their website at www.ethics.alabama.gov, <http://www.ethics.alabama.gov,> and

WHEREAS, all newly appointed and reappointed board members must submit a copy of their training certification to the City of Foley as a condition to being appointed/reappointed to the boards.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

SECTION 1: Appoints Kathleen McVey to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board beginning retroactively April 24, 2018 and ending on November 22, 2020 to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Leroy Parks and based on the conditions that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

SECTION 2: Appoints Joyce Sheldon to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board beginning retroactively May 7, 2018 and ending on May 8, 2021 to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Charlie Homann and based on the conditions that she submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

SECTION 3: Appoints Bill Schaffer to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board beginning retroactively July 20, 2018 and ending on July 21, 2021 to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Herman Doster and based on the conditions that he submits a copy of the Alabama Ethics Law certification to the City Clerk to be included in the City's General Files.

SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
