A Resolution appropriating funds for a robotic line painter for Foley Sports Tourism.
Summary
A robotic line painter can paint a soccer field by itself within 30 minutes. The normal time for lining and painting a field is 45 minutes for 3 workers and lines are not alway straight. The painter operates off of GPS and can utilize several different field layouts with minimal setup. The time, labor and accuracy would be greatly improved with the purchase or a robotic painter. We currently have issues trying to overcome quick turnarounds, weather delays, and new layouts. The estimated amount for purchase is $45,500, but we are requesting $50,000 to be safe. We feel like this is our most pressing need at the moment and will delay or eliminate the planned capital purchases of a laser line painter ($11,000), Zero Turn Mower ($11,000), Tractor with Loader ($30,000).

WHEREAS, Foley Sports Tourism has a need for a robotic line painter, and
WHEREAS, Foley Sports Tourism requests to allocate $50,000 of capital funds to go towards the robotic line painter,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves to go to bid and purchase a robotic line painter under account 100-5042-5100 for an amount not to exceed $50,000.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
