The Police Department has two requests to amend the Pay Classification Plan to continue with the restructure of the department. 1) convert/upgrade 1 Police Officer II slot to a Police Recruiting Corporal. This position is the department's recruiting officer and teaches the law enforcement classes at the high school and the employee in this position recently promoted to the rank of Corporal. 2. convert/upgrade 1 Corrections Officer slot to a Corrections Sergeant to prepare for succession planning within the Corrections division. The HR division will monitor the personnel accounts over the next year to determine whether a budget transfer is needed.
The Nature Parks Department requests to amend the Pay Classification Plan by converting/upgrading 1 Parks Ranger II position to a new position of Nature Parks Superintendent to supervise all departmental employees and to oversee all aspects of park operations in conjunction with the department director. The required budget transfers are provided on the attached form.

WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the City's Pay Classification Plan to accommodate the need to modify the rank/supervisory structure within the Police and Nature Parks Departments.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Amends the Pay Classification Plan in the Police Department by eliminating one (1) slot in the position of Police Officer II (Job Code 2010172 / Grade 180) and authorizing the new position of Police Recruiting Corporal (Job Code 2010176 / Grade 190).
SECTION 2: Amends the Pay Classification Plan in the Police Department by eliminating one (1) slot in the position of Corrections Officer (Job Code 2010153 / Grade 100) and authorizing the new position of Corrections Sergeant (Job Code 2010177 / Grade 130).
SECTION 3: Amends the Pay Classification Plan in the Nature Parks Department by eliminating one (1) slot in the position of Parks Ranger II (Job Code 5090114 / Grade 100) and authorizing the new position of Nature Parks Superintendent (Job Code 5090117 / Grade 160). The attached form provides the required budget transfers for the FY25 budget.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
