WHEREAS, the Foley City Council adopted Resolution 14-0200-RES on May 16, 2014 approving the good and usefull purpose of public funds to be used to fund the publication of a book about Foley High School football teams, and
WHEREAS, the deadline for the book was to be sometime within Foley's Centennial Year; however, Keith has been trying to complete the book and has sent a manuscript off to be proofed and there are still items to be researched and a couple of years of research in old newspapers prior to the completion of the book; and
WHEREAS, Keith Smith will not be able to complete the book in the City's Centennial Year and wishes to extend the deadline until approximately September 1, 2016.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council still finds that it is a good and useful purpose of public funds to use funds to help in the publication of a book about Foley High School football teams.
SECTION 2: Approves the extension of the deadline until September 1, 2016 and at this time no refund is required.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
