Summary
The Friends of the Foley Library, in conjunction with the City of Foley Public Library, seeks permission from the Foley City Council to apply to Impact 100 Baldwin County for a grant totaling $109,000.00 with no local match necessary. The funds, if awarded, would be used to purchase and equip a van that could be used for a new outreach service proposed by the Library. The service would include providing door to door materials delivery to the elderly, physically challenged, injured, home schooled families, etc., as well as assisting with electronic devices. We would also use the van to attend events as a promotional tool for the Library and for the Friends of the Library.

WHEREAS, the Friends of the Foley Library, in conjunction with the City of Foley Public Library, intends to make application to Impact 100 Baldwin County in the amount of $109,000.00 to be used to purchase a van for outreach services, and
WHEREAS, the deadline for the grant is June 3, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the amount of the grant is $109,000.00 with no local match, to be budgeted in FY2023, if awarded.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the application by the Friends of the Foley Library, in conjunction with the City of Foley Public Library, to Impact 100 Baldwin County for a grant to purchase and equip a van to be used in a new outreach service to the Foley community.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
