WHEREAS, the Environmental Department was previously awarded $65,500 for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management GOMESA Litter Trap Grant, and
WHEREAS, the grant was set to expire on March 31, 2026, but there were still $4,000 left in grant funds for the project, and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Department requested a grant extension and additional funding to cover the expected costs, and ADEM has authorized a grant extension until August 31, 2026 and has granted an additional $6,000 toward project costs, and
WHEREAS, staff requests to amend the budget accordingly: $6,000 to 100-2040-4202 GOMESA Litter Trap Grant & $6,000 to 100-2040-6026 GOMESA Litter Trap Grant Expense.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the additional funding from Alabama Department of Environmental Management GOMESA Litter Trap Grant for $6,000.
SECTION 2: Amends the budget accordingly: $6,000 increase to 100-2040-4202 GOMESA Litter Trap Grant & $6,000 increase to 100-2040-6026 GOMESA Litter Trap Grant Expense.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
