WHEREAS, Resolution 25-1361 authorized bid advertisement for the construction of the new City of Foley First Responder Hurricane Safe Room (Shelter); and
WHEREAS, Resolution 26-1032 accepted a proposal from GeoCon in the amount of $18,000 related to engineering construction materials testing and site work observation for the Shelter project; and
WHEREAS, GeoCon has provided correspondence dated July 22, 2026 indicating that due to unforeseen circumstances during the construction activities of the project, GeoCon recommends the City budget an additional $8,500.00 for construction materials testing and site work observations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes Mayor Ralph G. Hellmich and City Staff to sign the updated GeoCon proposal forms as well as appropriate an additional $8,500.00 under Account Number # 400-9200-5100 S03.1.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
