Recreation is requesting permission to use $5,350 to purchase a sport field edger and rear mount lip broom for infield grooming and field preparation. This equipment will significantly cut down our lip maintenance for the 5-plex. $3,800 was budgeted and $2,051.93 has already been spent to purchase a leveler leaving a balance of $1,748.07 for this item. Will no longer need the $5,000 budgeted for a privacy fence and request to use this amount to finish the purchase of the lip maintenance equipment.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley needs a sports field edger and rear mount lip broom for the sports complex.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the purchase of an sports field edger and rear mount lip broom in the amount of $5,350 from Capital Purchase Account 01-622-7010.
SECTION 2: Acknowledges that this purchase, in addition to the previous purchase of a leveler in the amount of $2,051.93, will complete the field lip maintenance equipment for a total cost of $7,401.93 that was originally budgeted at $3,800.
SECTION 3: Approves removing a $5,000 privacy fence from the list of approved Recreation Capital Purchases and using $3,601.93 of the budgeted funds to increase the budget for the field lip maintenance equipment to $7,401.93.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
