WHEREAS, the Library requests permission to apply for the FY26 Library Services and Technology Strengthening Youth and Family Grant to be used to equip the new Library STEAM Lab with the essential tools, technology, and supplies necessary to launch innovative, hands-on learning experiences, and
WHEREAS, if awarded, the grant's potential maximum award amount is $20,000 with a required local match of 25%, and
WHEREAS, the deadline to apply for the grant December 31, 2025.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves application for the FY26 Library Services and Technology Act grant and approves up to $5,000 in required matching City funds if the grant is awarded.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor, Library Board members and other City officials to sign the application and other documents required to submit the grant application.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
