A Resolution Approving the Goodwyn, Mills, Cawood, LLC Professional Services Proposal Addendum for the Schreiber Trail Project and Allocate the Funds
Summary
The Nature Parks Department is developing the Schreiber Trail project along the south side of Wolf Creek between the Antique Rose Trail and Poplar Street. The initial design was approved in FY2025 for $55,000. After design estimates came back higher than expected, funding was sought to offset some costs. An ADEM 319 project grant is being requested to cover some low impact development and green infrastructure demonstrations in the project. This has added to the design costs. The addendum is to increase the Goodwyn, Mills, Cawood, LLC contract up to an additional $68,000 to cover the designs, pollutant reduction estimates, construction oversight and bid assistance. The additional funds will be need to be allocated.

WHEREAS, the Schreiber Trail at Wolf Creek is an approved capital project under design; and
WHEREAS, Goodwyn, Mills, Cawood, LLC has been approved up to $55,000 for site engineering and design; and
WHEREAS, after preliminary designs and possibility of grant funding, the designs need to be expanded to include low impact development demonstrations and construction oversight; and
WHEREAS, the additional engineering services, as well as, project management totaled an additional $68,000; and
WHEREAS, the Nature Parks Department requested to allocate an additional $68,000 for the services.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approve Goodwyn, Mills, Cawood, LLC's professional services addendum proposal for the Schreiber Trail at Wolf Creek for an additional $68,000 under Account No#400-5090-5119 and allocates the funds.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
