WHEREAS, ALDOT is soliciting application for the new Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TAP) for FY 2021, and
WHEREAS, the City’s application would request funding for the extension of bicycle and pedestrian improvements along 9th Avenue and the east side of Hickory Street, and
WHEREAS, the estimated project construction cost is $875,000 with a cap of $640,000 of federal funds and $235,000 in matching funds plus an additional $83,500 in matching funds for design that is not grant eligible, and
WHEREAS, the deadline to apply is Wednesday, July 1, 2020, and
WHEREAS, if awarded, this will be a FY21 budget expense.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves City of Foley Engineering Department to submit an application for ALDOT’s Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TAP) for FY21.
SECTION 2: Approves City matching funds if the grant is awarded.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
