WHEREAS, the City of Foley staff, Mayor and Council has received many complaints regarding the poor telephone and internet service provided by CenturyLink/Tel during the past year but it has gotten noticeably worse within the past seven months, and
WHEREAS, the service is very slow and unreliable, service does not work at peak hours of the day, service is unsuitable for home-based businesses, service will disconnect while you are in the middle of researching something, and CenturyLink has reached their maximum capacity.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes the Mayor to sign a letter of complaint to President Twinkle Cavanaugh, of the Alabama Public Service Commission and send a copy to CenturyLink.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
