A Resolution Approving Sawgrass Consulting, LLC Professional Services Proposal Addendums for the Monarch Conservatory
Summary
The monarch conservatory capital project at Graham Creek Nature Preserve will require civil engineering for the site. Sawgrass Consulting, LLC prepared a proposal with survey, roadway, drainage, parking, geotechnical services, foundation design and construction administration with a not to exceed $25,000. After initial layouts and costs were analyzed, the site location needed to be moved to save over $250,00 in site work construction costs. To complete the civil engineering and design as well as add a supplemental agreement for an architect, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural engineering services. These services will assure the greenhouse conservatory meets all applicable codes. The overall change will be for an additional $62,500 in professional services. This amount is still within the allocated project amount and requires no additional funding at this time.

WHEREAS, the Monarch Conservatory at Graham Creek Nature Preserve is an approved capital project under development; and
WHEREAS, Sawgrass Consulting has been approved up to $25,000 for site engineering and design; and
WHEREAS, after preliminary designs, the location was changed to accommodate existing infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the additional engineering services, as well as, architect, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural engineering services totaled an additional $62,500; and
WHEREAS, the existing allocated budget of $400,000 included the professional services for the engineering.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approve Sawgrass Consulting, LLC's professional services addendum proposal for the Monarch Conservatory for an additional $62,500 under Account No#400-5090-5120.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
