Summary
Parks and Recreation requests council approval to start the Mel Roberts Park Improvements capital project. The project will be to upgrade the lighting on the 3 baseball fields, replacing the bathroom and concession buildings with a CXT prefabricated building, and replacing the scoreboards. We are requesting permission to bid the installation of the lighting, installation of the scoreboards, and demolition of the existing bathroom and concession buildings. We plan to purchase the lighting equipment, scoreboards, and the CXT building from purchasing cooperative agreements. The lighting equipment is Sourcewell Contract # 041123, the scoreboards are Sourcewell Contract #030223, and the CXT building is Sourcewell Contract #081721.

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation planned for $1,500,000 for the Mel Roberts Park Improvements Project, and
WHEREAS, the City expects to purchase MUSCO lighting, scoreboards, and the CXT bathroom/concession building via purchasing cooperative agreements, and
WHEREAS, the City will need to bid the installation work for the lighting, scoreboards, and demolition of the existing bathroom and concession buildings.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Appropriates $1,500,000 to account 400-5033-5101 for the Mel Roberts Park Improvements for lighting, scoreboards, and a new bathroom/concession building.
SECTION 2: Approves the purchase of MUSCO lighting via Sourcewell Contract #041123, scoreboards via Sourcewell Contract #030223, and the CXT building via Sourcewell Contract #081721.
SECTION 3: Approves going to bid for the installation of the lighting, installation of the scoreboards, and demolition of the existing bathroom and concession buildings so long as the total project cost for account # 400-5033-5101 does not exceed $1,500,000.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
