A Resolution Approving a Revised Contract for Public Purpose with the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation
Summary
The Chamber Foundation provides a public benefit to the City through it's various programs and the administration of teacher grants. The City's contract for public purpose with the Foundation needs to be updated to better reflect its mission statement and current goals. Also, the reporting requirement is being revised to include detail of payments for $35,000 in teacher grants (including $5,250 to the band and $10,000 to the various schools robotics programs) but not for the Foundation's general operations. In lieu of detail of payments for general operations, a written or oral report is to be provided, by either the second Council Meeting in August, or the first Council Meeting in September or prior to contract renewal, that describes how the $25,000 of general support assisted the Foundation in providing programs throughout the year and how the programs impacted the community, including number of children/adults impacted when known.

WHEREAS, the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation (Foundation) provides a public benefit through its various programs and through the administration of competitive teacher grants at Foley High School and all schools currently within its feeder pattern, and
WHEREAS, the Council recognizes the public benefit the Foundation provides and has contracted with the Foundation for many years, and
WHEREAS, the City and the Foundation desire to update the budgeted FY21 contract to better reflect the Foundation's mission statement and current goals, and to update the reporting requirements.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the attached updated contract for public purpose with the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
