DESCRIPTION OF TOPIC:
The Police Department is requesting to purchase 5 patrol vehicles off of the Alabama State Bid Contract with Donohoo Chevrolet. The cost for each vehicle with options is $30,374.24. The total requested sum will be $151,871.20. Due to having to purchase 2015 year models instead of the 2014 models we had budgeted for, there is a price increase over the budgeted amount. We are requesting additional funding for Account 01-608-7010 in the amount of $23,871.20 of which 11,935.60 will be paid from the Federal Forfeiture account restricted for Police use.

WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting to purchase five (5) patrol vehicles off of the Alabama State Bid Contract with Donohoo Chevrolet, and
WHEREAS, the cost for each vehicle with options is $30,374.24 with a total cost of $151,871.20, and
WHEREAS, due to having to purchase 2015 year models instead of the 2014 models we had budgeted for, there is a price increase over the budgeted amount, and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting additional funding for Account 01-608-7010 in the amount of $23,871.20 of which $11,935.60 will be paid from the Federal Forfeiture account restricted for Police use.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the purchase of five (5) patrol vehicles off of the Alabama State Bid Contract with Donohoo Chevrolet in the amount of $151,871.20.
SECTION 2: Appropriates $23,871.20 to Account No. 01-608-7010 in support of this action and half of the amount will come out of the Federal Forfeiture restricted account.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
