The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program will reimburse the City $5000 for the installation and first 90 days of maintenance as a pass through grant. Also request to allocate $9000 into Account #01-610-8015 for FY2018, and to allocate $5000 into Account #01-XXXX for the pass through grant.

WHEREAS, the City of Foley managed the development of the Bon Secour Watershed Management Plan which identified litter as a pollutant of concern originating in Foley, and
WHEREAS, the Management Plan identified Cedar Street at the Foley Intermediate School is a prime location for a litter trap installation, and
WHEREAS, Osprey Initiative, LLC has proposed a contract for installation and annual monthly maintenance of a Litter Gitter in the amount of $5000 for installation, maintenance, labor and materials for the first 90 days, and $1000 per month for the next 9 months, and
WHEREAS, the contract will be from March 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019, and
WHEREAS, the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program has offered to reimburse the City for the installation and first 90 days of mainteance in the amount of $5000 in the form of a pass through grant.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the contract with Osprey Initiatives, LLC for the installation and maintenance of the Litter Gitter for the period from March 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019 at a cost of $14,000 for the installation and maintenance for one year.
SECTION 2: Appropriates $14,000 into Expense Account # 01-610-8150 for the installation and maintenance of the Litter Gitter for the remainder of FY2018, and appropriates $5000 into Revenue Account # 01-4989 for the pass through grant of $5,000 from the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program Ecosystem Restoration Reimbursement Grant.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
