WHEREAS, there is a need for additional labor to fulfill the City's IT needs, and
WHEREAS, there is a desire to create one new position for an Information Services Technician I (G-10) at a cost of $21,500 for the remainder of the fiscal year, and, to convert the current IT Coordinator position (G-15) to an Information Services Manager (G-18) at an additional cost of $1,500 for the remainder of the fiscal year. This is a total increase of $23,000 for the remaining FY14 Budget.
WHEREAS, the impact to the budget on a full fiscal year basis would add approximately $54,000 to the annual budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes the creation of an Information Services Technician I in the City's Pay Classification Plan at a Grade 10 ($33,074 minimum annually salary), non-exempt, safety sensitive and appropriates $21,500 for salaries and benefits for the remainder of FY14.
SECTION 2: Authorizes converting the current position of IS Coordinator (G-15) to an Information Services Manager (G-18 / $49,304 minimum annual salary) in the City's Pay Classification Plan, exempt, safety sensitive, and appropriates $1,950 for the remainder of FY14. Authorizes employee #01-0750 to remain in this position upon conversion.
SECTION 3: Authorizes an allocation of funds for Sections 1 and 2 above, not to exceed $23,500 in support of this action. Human Resources will provide the Finance Division a breakdown on the allocation of funds to the specific personnel accounts.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
