WHEREAS, the Public Works Department proposes hosting the 1st Annual Gulf Coast Equipment "Roadeo" to showcase operator skills and foster collaboration among Baldwin County municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department also proposes hosting a Hospitality Night in conjunction with the Roadeo to provide networking opportunities for participating municipalities, equipment vendors, sponsors, and invited guests; and
WHEREAS, sponsorship revenue in the amount of $30,000 is being secured to assist with costs associated with the 1st Annual Gulf Coast Equipment "Roadeo" and Hospitality Night; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Fiscal Year Budget to recognize sponsorship revenue in Account 100-1060-4651 - Donation Equipment Roadeo in the amount of $30,000 and to increase the appropriation in Account 100-1060-6180 - Equipment Roadeo by $40,000 to fund event-related expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the total appropriation of $40,000 will support expenses associated with the 1st Annual Gulf Coast Equipment "Roadeo," including competition operations, equipment, awards, event logistics, and Hospitality Night expenses, including food, beverages, venue accommodations, and related hospitality costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOLEY, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council hereby approves the City of Foley hosting the Hospitality Night in conjunction with the 1st Annual Gulf Coast Equipment "Roadeo."
Section 2: The City Council hereby approves a budget amendment increasing Account 100-1060-4651 - Donation Equipment Roadeo by $30,000 to recognize sponsorship revenue and increasing Account 100-1060-6180 - Equipment Roadeo by $40,000 for event expenditures.
Section 3: The Finance Department is authorized to make the necessary accounting entries to implement this budget amendment.
Section 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
