Summary
The Foley Fire Department is needing to continue the scheduled replacement of certain fire/rescue equipment, namely its AED/cardiac monitors and CPR assist devices. The Assistance to Firefighters Grant for FY 2019 application period has been released, and the AED’s and CPR assist devices are considered a funding priority. We are requesting approval to apply for the FY 2019 Assistance to Firefighters Grant for $75,000 with a $3,750 match.

WHEREAS, FEMA is accepting applications for the FY 2019 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to replace fire/rescue equipment used by the Foley Fire Department, and
WHEREAS, grant applications are due March 13, 2020 with awards being announced in April 30, 2020, and
WHEREAS, Foley Fire Department will request up to $75,000 with a $3,750 match.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the FY 2019 AFG program application for up to $75,000 with $3,750 in matching funds to be used for fire equipment for Foley Fire Department to be budgeted in the FY21 budget if awarded.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
