There is a need to transfer a part-time position from the Residential Sanitation Department over to the Street Department. There is also a need for a new part-time position in the Street Department to oversee the Department of Corrections inmate workers and to assist with other maintenance needs if or when the inmates are not in use, and the Sanitation Department has had a vacant part-time position for over a year now and is no longer needed. The request is to eliminate the position of Part-Time Sanitation Worker (Grade 30) and add a new Part-Time Street Maintenance Worker II (Grade 60). Human Resources will provide budget transfers from the Reserve for Salary Increases account to the finance division.

     WHEREAS, there is a need to transfer a part-time position from the Residential Sanitation Department to the Street Department to accommodate the needs of the departments.

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

     SECTION 1:     Amends the City's Pay Classification Plan in the Residential Sanitation Department by eliminating the position of Part-Time Sanitation Worker (Job Code 4011109 / Grade 30).

     SECTION 2:     Amends the City's Pay Classification Plan in the Street Department by authorizing one slot in the new position of Part-Time Street Maintenance Worker II (Job Code 3010132 / Grade 60). The Human Resources Division will provide the necessary budget transfers to the Finance Division.

     SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
