WHEREAS, the Foley Municipal Airport has been developed or improved with the assistance of Federal grants, the City of Foley is required to operate the airport for the use and benefit of the public and to make it available for all types, kinds, and classes of aeronautical activity, and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommends that Federally obligated airports develop commercial minimum standards and related policies to promote safety in all airport activities, protect airport users from unlicensed and unauthorized products and services, maintain and enhance the availability of adequate services for all airport users, promote the orderly development of airport land, and ensure efficiency of operations, and,
WHEREAS, minimum standards are optional but the FAA highly recommends their use and implementation as a means to minimize the potential for violations of Federal obligations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the "Foley Municipal Airport Minimum Standards for Commercial Aeronautical Activities" dated June 20, 2016.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
