         WHEREAS, the Cities of Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Baldwin County have experienced significant growth in not only human population but in the domestic animal population as well, and

 

    WHEREAS, the City of Foley recognizes the need for an animal shelter to serve the South Baldwin County communities, and

 

    WHEREAS, the City of Foley is in full support of the expenditure of funds in an amount up to $5,000 to Shelter Planners of America, a company with over 30 years of animal shelter consulting experience, to perform a complete Comprehensive Needs Assessment Study to assess the animal shelter needs in the City of Foley, Gulf Shores, and the City of Orange Beach contingent upon the approval of the same by the City of Gulf Shores, the City of Orange Beach and the Baldwin County Commission.    

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1:    Approves the engagement of Shelter Planners of America to provide a Comprehensive Needs Assessment Study for a Joint Tri-City Animal Shelter to serve the communities of Foley, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach as defined in scope of work and in an amount not to exceed $5,000 in conjunction with the City of Gulf Shores, the City of Orange Beach and the Baldwin County Commission contingent upon the approval of the same by the City of Gulf Shores, the City of Orange Beach and the Baldwin County Commission.    

 

     SECTION 2:    Approves an increase to the budget for General Government Administration Account #100-1010-6020/Consulting & Professional, in the amount not to exceed $5,000.

 

     SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
