Title

Resolution Approving the Additional Services Amendment Proposal from Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood LLC for the Mills Park Property Improvements Project.

 

Summary

Leisure Services received a professional services proposal for additional services from Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, LLC. for the Mills Community Park Project, in the amount of $37,400. The additional services are provided in response to unforeseen changes to the existing conditions for the Mills Community Park. These services will be provided to further study and revise existing stormwater plans in the context of newly altered site condition and incorporate changes requested. The Scope of Services includes: Topo & Tree Survey, Stormwater Revisions & Coordination, Site Plan Revisions, Cost Estimates, Additional Permitting (as needed) and Project Phasing (as needed).  Public Works will help with the site work for this project, requesting $200,000 for the rental of the needed equipment to complete the task.

Previously approved Resolutions:

23-1412 Appropriation of $14,000 GreenCo to forestry mow.

24-1203 Appropriation of $25,000 GMC Professional Topography and Tree Survey and Master Planning Services.

24-1390 Appropriation of $250,000 New playground, site prep, and fencing.

24-1413 Appropriation of $117,535 GMC to provide Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding Construction Administration, Preliminary Geotechnical Analysis/Report, Stormwater Modeling Report, SDEM Permitting and Inspections and As-Built Survey.

     WHEREAS, Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, LLC. has submitted a proposal for additional services due to unforeseen changes to the existing conditions of Mills Community Park, and

 

      WHEREAS, Further study and revisions to the existing stormwater plans and incorporate changes need to be resolved, and

 

      WHEREAS, Public Works will do the site work and rental equipment is needed to perform the work.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

     SECTION 1:    Authorize the additional services amendment proposal from Goodwyn, Mills & Cadwood, LLC and appropriate $37,400 under Impact Fees to Account No# 208-5030-5103 Mills Park Property Improvements.

 

     SECTION 2:     Appropriates $200,000 for the site work by Public Works and the rental of equipment, under Impact Fees to Account No #208-5030-5103 Mills Park Property Improvements.

 

     SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
