WHEREAS, the Police Department has identified a need to reclassify one Police Officer position to a Corporal within the Investigations Division to provide appropriate supervisory support and align the division’s structure with that of the Corrections Division, and
WHEREAS, the addition of a Corporal within the Investigations Division will enhance leadership capacity, improve case management oversight, and ensure consistency in supervisory practices across divisions, and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Division has evaluated the duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources Specialist position and determined that a title change to Personnel Specialist more accurately reflects the essential functions and scope of the role, and
WHEREAS, the proposed reclassification and title change are considered budget neutral.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Amends the Pay Classification Plan in the Police Department by reclassifying one (1) slot in the position of Police Officer II (Job Code 2010172 / Grade 180) to one (1) additional slot in the position Police Corporal (Job Code 2010173 / Grade 190).
SECTION 2: Amends the Pay Classification Plan in the Human Resources Division of General Government by amending the title of the Human Resources Specialist (Job Code 1010123 / Grade 130) to Personnel Specialist (Job Code 1010110 / Grade 130).
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
