A Resolution Approving the Development of a Police Department Mobile App. 

 

Summary

The Foley Police Department requests an increase of departmental budget funds using already existing cash from the restricted Local Drug Fund account #100-1071, in the amount of $14,985.00. The account receiving the increase of $14,985.00 is the Software Maintenance Agreement Account #100-2010-6131. The funds will be used towards the development of a police department mobile app utilizing web-based software from OVC, LLC.  This specific app software from OVC, LLC is currently being utilized by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and will allow us to rebroadcast notifications from one app to another between the two departments.  There is also an annual software maintenance and support fee of $5,995.00 that will continue each year for as long as the software is being used. This recurring charge will be included in future budgets.

     WHEREAS,  The Foley Police Department has $102,134.74 of cash available in the restricted Local Drug Fund checking account GL#100-1071, and

 

     WHEREAS,  The Chief of Police is requesting to use $14,985.00 of this restricted cash to develop a police department mobile app utilizing web-based software from OVC, LLC.  with an annual maintenance and support fee of $5,995.00.

 

     NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

   

     SECTION 1:  Approves the increase to FY2023 departmental budget funds to Software Maintenance Agreement #100-2010-6131 in the amount of $14,985.00 for a purchase to be made from Restricted Local Drug Fund Account GL#100-1071.

 

     SECTION 2:  Approves this $14,985.00 to be used for the development of a police department mobile app utilizing web-based software from OVC, LLC.  with an annual maintenance and support fee of $5,995.00.

 

     SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
