Summary
The City of Foley is launching a project to revitalize the streetscape of our historic downtown neighborhoods. This initiative will focus on enhancing six key streets covering four city blocks: Alston Street from Jessamine south to Verbena (100’ right of way), West Jessamine Avenue (100’ right of way), West Orange Avenue (100’ right of way), West Myrtle Avenue (100’ right of way), and West Verbena Avenue (80’ right of way), along with South Chicago Street from West Laurel Avenue to Myrtle Street. There are three areas planned for FY24 (W Jessamine, W Rose, and W Orange), and one area planned for FY25 (W Myrtle). Christian Preus Landscape Architecture, PLLC had provided an estimate for $55,415.00 for the conceptual design of the downtown neighborhood as described above.

WHEREAS, The City of Foley is launching a project to revitalize the streetscape of our historic downtown neighborhoods, and
WHEREAS, Engineering has $175,000 planned in FY24 for multiple Streetscape projects, and
WHEREAS, Christian Preus Landscape Architecture, PLLC had provided a proposal for the conceptual design on enhancing six key street: S Alston from Jessamine south to Verbena (100' right of way), W Jessamine (100’ right of way), W Orange (100’ right of way), W Myrtle (100’ right of way), and W Verbena (80’ right of way), along with S Chicago from W Laurel to Myrtle.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approves the proposal from Christian Preus Landscape Architecture, PLLC in the amount of $55,415.00 under account number # 400-3020-5110 R23 FY2024
SECTION 2: Appropriates $55,500.00 to account # 400-3020-5110 R23 FY2024.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
