Title

A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to Sign a Letter of Intent to Purchase SCBA's for the Foley Fire Department

Summary

Description of Topic: (who, what, where, when, why and how much)

We have a critical need to replace all of our self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) due to the manufacturer no longer supporting our units with parts or service.  We have been unsuccessful with our attempts for funding through an AFG grant request.  The preferred manufacturer is offering an incentive price through 10/31/2024 which discounts our needed equipment by $100,000.  They are willing to hold this price for us with a letter of intent to purchase while we finalize our funding options for this unbudgeted cost.  Therefore, we are requesting authorization for the Mayor to sign a letter of intent for this purchase.  The anticipated total purchase amount is $456,514.
