The amount budgeted for the inflatable child slide is $7500 in the Fire Ad Valorem fund capital projects. The total cost of Freddie and accessories will not exceed $10,500.

WHEREAS, the Foley Assembly of God Church has generously donated $3000 of proceeds from their 1st Annual Car Show to the Foley Fire Department for its Fire Prevention Education Program, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has identified that Freddie the Firetruck would be a great tool for its Child Fire Safety Program, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has been unsuccessful in receiving federal grant funds for the purchase of a Freddie the Firetruck, and
WHEREAS, the Foley Fire Department has budgeted for $7500 for a an inflatable child slide for its Fire Prevention Education Program but recognizes that Freddie the Firetruck is a higher priority project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the donation of $3000 from the Foley Assembly of God Church to be deposited in the Fire Department Advalorem Fund and amends the FY13 Budget for revenue account 02-5861.
SECTION 2: Authorizes the use of $7500 budgeted in account 02-600-7010 for an inflatable child slide to be used towards the purchase of Freddie the Firetruck in an amount not to exceed $10,500 for a net increase of $3000.
SECTION 3: Approves the puchase of Freddie the Firetruck from Robotronics for the amount of $9800 with the remaining funds used for accessories and customizing.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
