A Resolution to Accept the Walmart Spark Local Good Grant

 

Summary

Foley Police Department requested permission to apply for the Walmart Sparks Local Good grant on 25-1396-RES. Walmart has granted the City of Foley $2,700 for the Shop with a Cop program. Within the City of Foley, there are four schools: Foley Elementary, Mathis Elementary, Foley Middle School, and Foley High School. The City provides school resource officers (SRO) to each of these schools. The Foley Police Department requested $2,700.00 in Walmart sparks good grant funding to supplement Christmas presents for children identified in need by the SRO's and school staff. The Shop with a Cop program will help to ease the burden of Christmas presents for local area residents.

WHEREAS, Foley Police Departments was invited to apply for a grant through the Walmart Spark Local Good Grant and was granted permission by Council on 25-1396-RES, and

 

WHEREAS, Walmart has awarded the City of Foley $2,700.00 for the Shop with a Cop program to help ease the burden of Christmas presents of children identified within the Foley Schools, and

 

WHEREAS, the following accounts need to be amended: $2,700.00 to 100-2010-4120 (Walmart Foundation Grant - Revenue Acct) and $2,700.00 to 100-2010-6052 (PD - Public Relations Expense).

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:

 

SECTION 1:     Approves Foley Police Department to submit an application for the Walmart Spark Local Good Grant.

 

SECTION 2:     Amends the following accounts as required: $2,700.00 to 100-2010-4120 (Walmart Foundation Grant - Revenue Acct) and $2,700.00 to 100-2010-6052 (PD - Public Relations Expense).

     

SECTION 3:     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
