Title

A Resolution Amending The Pay Classification Plan In the Public Works And Street Departments

Summary

Description of Topic: (who, what, where, when, why and how much)

In an effort to continue to restructure the Public Works and Street Departments, there is a need to modify certain positions and move the advertising up on newly approved positions in the budget. The following job modifications, adjustments to the timing and amendments to the Pay Classification Plan are needed. 1) Convert/downgrade the vacant Public Works Administrative Supervisor (grade 170) to the new position of Public Works Coordinator (grade 130). 2) Convert/upgrade the position of Street Maintenance Worker III (grade 100) to another Street Maintenance Crew Leader (120) and move its hiring up from third quarter to immediate hire. To offset this we will delay the hiring of two vacant Street Maintenance Worker I's. These actions are budget neutral due to a surplus of funds due to a vacancy.
