WHEREAS, Foley High School ROTC teacher Col. Scherry Douglas is requesting the use of the Civic Center on February 21, 2016 to present a found Purple Heart that was located in Elberta Alabama to the family of Private Samuel Lewis Brock the recipient, who was killed in action at Iwo Jima in 1945, and
WHEREAS, Col. Douglas is requesting the fees for the use of the Civic Center be waived for the Purple Heart Repatriation.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Waives the fees for the use of the Foley Civic Center on February 21, 2016 for a Purple Heart Repatriation.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
