WHEREAS, the Fire Department's training building, located at 12131 Bender Road, was constructed in 1996 and is in great need of repairs, and
WHEREAS, repairs are necessary to reinforce the structural integrity of the building in order for Fire Department personnel to safely perform their training, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department obtained a proposal from CEO Structural Engineers to perform an inspection of and compile a comprehensive report with their findings and recommendations for repairs and maintenance to the Training Center Burn Building, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department requests approving the proposal from CEO Structural Engineers for $5,900, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department requests permission to appropriate funding of $175,000 and go to bid for this project based on the report provided by CEO Structural Engineers.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Accepts the CEO Structural Engineers' proposal for a NFPA 1402/03 inspection and report of the Fire Department's Training Center Burn Building in the amount of $5,900.00, and authorizes the Fire Department to go out to bid for the repairs to the Fire Department Training Center based upon the results provided in the inspection and report.
SECTION 2: Appropriates $175,000.00 to Account No. 400-2020-5107 for the Fire Department's Training Center Burn Building project.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
