WHEREAS, the Foley Police Department requests Council’s permission to submit an application to the Homeland Security Local Competitive Grant for Soft Target/Crowded Places Protection, and
WHEREAS, applications are due on August 1, 2023, and
WHEREAS, the police department plans to request $50,000 in non-match funding to purchase approximately 300 ADA Strongwall Barricades, and
WHEREAS, these would be utilized for events at Heritage Park or other locations where barricades are needed throughout the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Authorizes the submission of the application to the Homeland Security Local Competitive Grant for Soft Target/Crowded Places Protection.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
