Resolution 24-1283 approved Volkert's professional services to include preparing the right of way and easement documents and legal descriptions necessary for the project. The City is now ready to move forward to solicit bids, award the contract within budget, and appropriate funds for the project. The sidewalks will be along Airport / Little Rock Road, Mills Road, CR65, and Dailey Lane connecting to the future Mills Community Park

WHEREAS, the Mills Community voted to annex into the City Limits; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council desire to add sidewalks in the Community to improve connectivity and pedestrian safety; and
WHEREAS, Engineering is requesting approval to solicit bids, award the bid within budget, and appropriate funds for the Pedestrian Paths for Mills Project; and
WHEREAS, the staff of The City of Foley requests Council to authorize Mayor, Clerk, and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approve the request to solicit bids, award the bid within budget, and appropriate $1,200,000.00 to Account No #400-3020-5174 Pedestrian Paths for Mills Project.
SECTION 2: Council authorizes Mayor, Clerk, and other City officials to sign the contracts and other documents required to proceed.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
