WHEREAS, the City of Foley owns the property located at 211 East Rose Avenue and there is a dilapidated house on the property. The structure is no longer livable and is unsafe; therefore, we are requesting that it be declared surplus, and
WHEREAS, we are requesting authorization to appropriate $2,000.00 for the removal or demolition of the structure currently located at 211 East Rose Avenue.
WHEREAS, we are requesting authorization to purchase or bid a pre-fabricated building, solicit other bids as needed for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and any other necessary components and submit advertisements as required for the new Symbol building to be located at 211 East Rose Avenue, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foley, Alabama, as follows:
SECTION 1: Declares the structure on the property located at 211 East Rose Avenue as surplus and authorizes the removal or demolition of the structure by demolition and/or best means possible.
SECTION 2: Approves and appropriates funds in the amount of $2,000.00 to Account No# 400-3020-5175 for removal or demolition of the structure.
SECTION 3: Approves purchasing or bidding a pre-fabricated building for use as the new Symbol Clinic to be placed on this property and appropriates funds in the amount of $473,320.00 to Account No# 400-3020-5175.
SECTION 4: Approves advertising and soliciting bids for the building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and any other necessary components of the new Symbol building.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption as required by law.
